home tour // upper level

This might be the only time all of these rooms have been clean & tidy at the same time. So enjoy, because it certainly doesn't look this tidy any longer!

Here we have the upper level of our home tour.

We begin in the hall way at the top of the stairs and make our way into the master bedroom...

Then to the left of the stairs is Truett's nursery..

And further down the hall we have his bathroom..

And just beyond the bathroom is another bedroom that we use as an office slash guest room...

And that completes our home tour!
Thanks for stopping by.

nine months old [truett]

Can you believe another month has already come and gone? I feel like January just flew by! Which isn't such a bad thing considering how crazy it has been with listing our house. But in the midst of that craziness, my little monkey is now one month older and a big NINE month old! I can hardly believe it.

Weight/Height: We had his check up last week and he weighs 21lb 10oz and is 29 3/4inches tall. He hasn't gained a whole lot lately but the doc says that is totally normal because of how active he is now. So I'm not terribly concerned about it. Plus this kid loves to eat so I know he is getting what he needs!

Clothes: He is still in all 12 month clothes with the occasional 12-18 month outfit/pajamas.

Sleep: He sleeps from about 6:30-6:30 and still takes two naps a day, typically around 9am and 1pm. I'm happy to say I didn't jinx myself last month and he is still sleeping solid through the night (insert dancing emoji!) But it can vary depending on what time he wakes up. There was one day last week he slept til 8! So that threw things off a bit. But overall he is pretty consistent.

Feeding: Like I said, this kid loooves to eat! He loves to self feed and was never crazy about being spoon fed or having purees. However I have found that he absolutely loves to eat those little squeeze pouches, like these, and he is getting pretty good at doing it by himself! He basically eats anything that we are eating, with the exception of the common allergens to avoid before 1 (such as my beloved, peanut butter). And he is still nursing 4 times a day. Although, he has been biting me a lot lately so we will see how much longer we continue that...

Likes: His favorite thing right now is to make noise! One of his favorite "toys" is a long plastic serving spoon that he carries around and hits things with. It's pretty cute if I do say so myself. He loves to clap and blow kisses and facetime with his Juju (my mom).

Dislikes: Still not a huge fan of the car unless he is snacking on something. He also has become almost impossible to put a diaper on! He would much rather crawl around buck naked and let it all hang out. But no no, mother modesty over here (ha!) says a diaper it is. So we wrangle him the best we can and provide him with a lovely diaper thong that I am most certain he loves...

Milestones: He officially has 8 teeth now! 4 on the bottom and 4 on top. And boy does he love to bite everything (including me!). He has started to stand on his own a bit and he loves to climb things. He took his "first step" the other day and I say that with bunny ears because it was a rather drunken stumble than a graceful step but hey, a milestone none the less! He also has learned how to clap and blow kisses, which is freaking adorable!

Events: We listed our house! Even though thats not really a big event for him, its still a big event. Our house is currently under contract and we are scheduled to close on the 20th... 11 more days and we can party. He also got to 'watch' his first Super Bowl which was very exciting. He didn't quite watch much of it but I do think he enjoyed those dancing sharks at half time..

And boo, our Hawks lost.. but I guess that's okay because daddy insists he be a Raiders fan like him...

It's been a busy month and this little guy has been such a trooper. We had to be in and out of the house a lot while our house was on the market (& thank goodness things went quickly!) but he did such a great job adapting. He has a pretty great personality and we are so thankful for the joy he brings our family.

i love you my wild turkey.

large wall clock

I have been lusting over large oversized wall clocks for close to an eternity now but for one reason or another have been unable to find the perfect size, style, feel for what I really want.

I came up with an idea of what I wanted and started pinteresting plans and eventually managed to get the Mr. on board with my scheming. I explained to him the size I wanted and such and he just went with it!

That guy, he's turned into quite the craft master I must say!

One Eve I went to bed early and arose the next morning to find a near compete wall clock! All she needed was some staining and numbers and she'd be complete. That Mr., he's a gem I tell ya!

So, after a few different concoctions of stain, some distressing, and painting of numbers... I introduce you to my latest obsession; our wall clock..

I know, I know, you're drooling aren't you? I sure am.

Thank heavens for a handy man that doesn't roll his eyes at my crazy visions and plans!
