living room reveal

i guess it's confession time... i opened a new Instagram for all my decor loving friends! & i'm pretty excited about it. i didn't want to overwhelm my non-decor loving friends with all those posts so i decided to create a new page. and you can go check it out over here.

sooo, yeah, that's where i have been! but now i'm back over here to share with y'all some of my posts & to reveal how the living room turned out after much inspiration, diy projects, and blood, sweat, & tears (well, no tears really!)

i scored this lovely antique buffet table from someone online & that darling little chair from a flea market a few weeks back. (oh and yes, someone decided to toss their ball right as i was taking pictures!)
a view of the entire living room.

hey look ^^^ my very first ikea hack! i must say, i'm pretty proud of how this turned out.

still fiddling with this sitting area corner but it's made a ton of progress!

don't forget to find me on IG for more decor posts & diy projects!

24 weeks pregnant [baby #2]

really Jess? another bathroom selfie? I'm sorry but these days getting me in a picture is a struggle on its own, so be glad there's one at all!

it's another bumpdate y'all, get excited!!

How far along? 24 weeks

Total weight gain: +9lbs

Maternity clothes?  mostly living in sundresses and light clothes, however this morning I was a little cold so I threw on this cozy sweatshirt that still manages to fit me (score!)

Stretch marks? nothing new that I can tell! hoping to keep it that way (fingers crossed!)

Best moment this week: hitting 24 weeks is pretty awesome as its viability week. which if you don't already know, is typically the earliest a little bambino can survive outside the womb. but we want this little nugget to cook for at least another 14 weeks please! in other news, we had a great fourth of july and have been busy working away at house projects - one of which is the nursery! can't wait to share with yall soon

Miss anything? being able to move easily - it's getting a little more difficult to chase after truett these days!

Movement: lots more! he's getting much more active now and really enjoys kicking straight down and it feels like he's kicking me in the butt.

Food cravings: watermelon has been high on the list but not much other than that!

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope! thank goodness

Gender: boy

Labor signs: none

Symptoms: the heart burn is slowly creeping up on me. as well as some low back/hip pain but it hasn't been too bad yet. I've started taking my rolaids again and hoping it doesn't get as horrible as it was with truett

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: happy & excited for this little guy!

Looking forward to: all the newborn snuggles coming my way! oh & for it to cool down a little bit because this heat is kicking me in the butt!

inspiration for living room decor

one of the most exciting things about buying & moving into a new home (for me, at least) was the idea of getting to redecorate! we knew we would need to buy a few key pieces along the way.. especially considering this house has about 1000sqft more than our last.

for the first few months we had many an empty room. and it's been quite the process slowly getting each room decorated/furnished/etc.

first on our list was the downstairs. since this is the main entertaining space we wanted to make sure it was the first to be tackled. almost three months later and im still working at it. but i have been drawing tons of inspiration from some of my favorite bloggers.

such as this gorgeous space from the lovely Jen at City Farmhouse:

and the always inspiring Jennifer of Dear Lillie:

are you sensing a theme here with my love for the soft blues and neutrals? yep, me too folks.

one last gorgeousness for you.. this image from Lucy at Craftberry Bush. i mean, come on, i'm drooling over here:

i clearly have my work cut out for me! & hope to do a reveal here shortly. stayed tuned ;)

who are your favorite design bloggers that you just drool over? anyone to help inspire my living room makeover? send them this way!

20 weeks pregnant [baby #2]

How far along? 20 weeks and  3 days

Total weight gain:  +2

Maternity clothes?  well if you consider my yoga pants and tank tops maternity clothes then yes..

Stretch marks?  nothing new from the tiger stripes I grew with truett

Best moment this week: we're one vacation! hence the quietness around here. you can find me by the lake chasing around my toddler with a bottle of sunscreen.

Miss anything? will I sound like a lush if once again I mention missing my wine? well this week more than any, I really do! simply because we are on vacation at the lake and I feel like everyone around me is drinking. all. day. long. but whatever, it's worth it. plus, no hangovers for this girl!

Movement: definitely noticing a ton more movement and have even been able to see it from the outside. Vince got to feel him the other day too which was great, being the first time with this little one

Food cravings: anything salty. give me all the popcorn. oh but I'll gladly take a donut as well!

Anything making you queasy or sick: I still get dizzy randomly every now and then but nothing's causing it per say other than the little man in my belly. overall I feel good though!

Gender: another little boy!

Labor signs: none

Symptoms: I'm noticing the heart burn at night starting to come on and I am oh so not excited for that again. It was so horrible last time I just don't even want to think about it.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or moody most of the time: mostly happy but let's face it I am pregnant and moody does come with the territory. sorry hubs!

Looking forward to: our ultrasound next week! I'm excited to get to see our little guy and check up on him. and I guess also to double check he is still a he!

& because we know you're ever so curious... my 20 weeks update with truett can be found here

19 weeks pregnant [baby #2]

well i'm starting this a little later in the game than i did with truett, but it will still be fun to compare these two pregnancies!

eh... sorry about the lame phone selfie but that's all i was able to muster up this past week. and actually this picture was taken a few days ago so you can bet i'm a wee bit bigger than this now. which is shocking! i can't  believe how quickly i started to show with this baby compared to with truett. i swear at like 12 weeks i looked like i did when i was 20 with true! but i guess being that there was only 8 or 9 months between these two pregnancies my body musta known what to do. ;)

How far along? 19 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain: well i lost about 5 pounds in the very beginning. and not due to morning sickness or anything (i got lucky again this time and didn't have any! phew) but for some reason i dropped a few pounds. definitely not complaining though. i think it might be because i'm still nursing true and my body was adjusting to all the cha-cha-cha-changes. anyway, i've since gained that back and am up about 2 more pounds from prepregnancy weight. so let's just say gained 2.

Maternity clothes?  sometimes.. depends on the day. i can usually get away with regular shirts but bottoms wise i prefer my maternity leggings or regular yoga pants. i've been wearing dresses more so lately and got a few cute ones from old navy and target maternity that i'm sure you will be seeing lots of this summer.

Stretch marks?  nothing new this pregnancy. but uhm it's kind of hard to tell since i have a zillion from truett... thanks bud!

Best moment this week: feeling baby from the outside! also, off topic, getting our fence done this week and making progress on the backyard.. but back to baby!

Miss anything? wine. oh boy have i been craving wine the last few days...

[baby boy #2 at 13weeks]

Movement: occasionally! i usually feel him a few times a day but it's not the whole rumbling feeling yet. just kicks here and there. i did have my hand on my belly the other day and actually felt him on the outside too which was pretty cool! im excited for when vince can start to feel him too

Food cravings: not many.. i have been loving life saver sour gummies and today i craved some pizza. but nothing earth shattering. i didn't really have cravings with truett either.

Anything making you queasy or sick: no, i feel pretty good!

Gender: BOY!

Labor signs: nope

Symptoms: so sleepy!! but that's probably because i spend my days chasing after a constantly moving target called truett. he's become quite the wildman i tell ya. and then theres that whole peeing all night long thing that i totally forgot about. yeah, that's not too fun either. i'm also constantly thirsty so that combination is cool. my boobs have been achy and i get random pains in my butt/hip area,

Wedding rings on or off? on kinda.. it's getting repaired right now because i lost one of the accent diamonds. boooo.

Happy or moody most of the time: happy most of the time! however today i was a bit low on patience.. so i guess that would make me moody.

Looking forward to: vacation next week! not looking forward to wearing a swim suit but whatev! oh and of course, feeling the baby move more.. i can't wait for that. i love those whole body rolls.

wanna compare? look back at 18 weeks with truett here!

life lately

...has been crazy!

i promised an explanation and here it goes... well, in case you missed it.. we are expecting baby boy number two! we found out in the beginning of february in the midst of selling our home and packing up the house so things were mighty crazy for a while there. i am due end of october, roughly around the 25th. we found out it was another boy a few weeks ago when i got one of those crazy early blood test deals. we are super excited to be having another boy, i think it will be so great for true to have a little brother so close in age! i am 16 weeks now and feeling great! i do plan to do weekly-ish updates like i sort of did with truett, but life with a toddler is always eventful so you never know.

we are officially moved in to the new house! here we are sitting on the back porch before it was fully finished. i wish i could say the house is decorated and looking all snazzy and shiz, but tis not the case. i AM getting there though, i swear it!

i have tons to update on my little trueberry, but will save that for another day when i can do a full one year update on him. golly gee, can you believe its been a year already? i certainly can't! he had a wonderful birthday party and i will share all the deets with you as soon as i upload the pictures from my non-iphone camera.

i've missed blogging, so i do hope to make a comeback but no guarantees. with spring/summer now showing itself to us in the PNW, i might just end up soaking up every last ray that i can!

home tour // upper level

This might be the only time all of these rooms have been clean & tidy at the same time. So enjoy, because it certainly doesn't look this tidy any longer!

Here we have the upper level of our home tour.

We begin in the hall way at the top of the stairs and make our way into the master bedroom...

Then to the left of the stairs is Truett's nursery..

And further down the hall we have his bathroom..

And just beyond the bathroom is another bedroom that we use as an office slash guest room...

And that completes our home tour!
Thanks for stopping by.

nine months old [truett]

Can you believe another month has already come and gone? I feel like January just flew by! Which isn't such a bad thing considering how crazy it has been with listing our house. But in the midst of that craziness, my little monkey is now one month older and a big NINE month old! I can hardly believe it.

Weight/Height: We had his check up last week and he weighs 21lb 10oz and is 29 3/4inches tall. He hasn't gained a whole lot lately but the doc says that is totally normal because of how active he is now. So I'm not terribly concerned about it. Plus this kid loves to eat so I know he is getting what he needs!

Clothes: He is still in all 12 month clothes with the occasional 12-18 month outfit/pajamas.

Sleep: He sleeps from about 6:30-6:30 and still takes two naps a day, typically around 9am and 1pm. I'm happy to say I didn't jinx myself last month and he is still sleeping solid through the night (insert dancing emoji!) But it can vary depending on what time he wakes up. There was one day last week he slept til 8! So that threw things off a bit. But overall he is pretty consistent.

Feeding: Like I said, this kid loooves to eat! He loves to self feed and was never crazy about being spoon fed or having purees. However I have found that he absolutely loves to eat those little squeeze pouches, like these, and he is getting pretty good at doing it by himself! He basically eats anything that we are eating, with the exception of the common allergens to avoid before 1 (such as my beloved, peanut butter). And he is still nursing 4 times a day. Although, he has been biting me a lot lately so we will see how much longer we continue that...

Likes: His favorite thing right now is to make noise! One of his favorite "toys" is a long plastic serving spoon that he carries around and hits things with. It's pretty cute if I do say so myself. He loves to clap and blow kisses and facetime with his Juju (my mom).

Dislikes: Still not a huge fan of the car unless he is snacking on something. He also has become almost impossible to put a diaper on! He would much rather crawl around buck naked and let it all hang out. But no no, mother modesty over here (ha!) says a diaper it is. So we wrangle him the best we can and provide him with a lovely diaper thong that I am most certain he loves...

Milestones: He officially has 8 teeth now! 4 on the bottom and 4 on top. And boy does he love to bite everything (including me!). He has started to stand on his own a bit and he loves to climb things. He took his "first step" the other day and I say that with bunny ears because it was a rather drunken stumble than a graceful step but hey, a milestone none the less! He also has learned how to clap and blow kisses, which is freaking adorable!

Events: We listed our house! Even though thats not really a big event for him, its still a big event. Our house is currently under contract and we are scheduled to close on the 20th... 11 more days and we can party. He also got to 'watch' his first Super Bowl which was very exciting. He didn't quite watch much of it but I do think he enjoyed those dancing sharks at half time..

And boo, our Hawks lost.. but I guess that's okay because daddy insists he be a Raiders fan like him...

It's been a busy month and this little guy has been such a trooper. We had to be in and out of the house a lot while our house was on the market (& thank goodness things went quickly!) but he did such a great job adapting. He has a pretty great personality and we are so thankful for the joy he brings our family.

i love you my wild turkey.

large wall clock

I have been lusting over large oversized wall clocks for close to an eternity now but for one reason or another have been unable to find the perfect size, style, feel for what I really want.

I came up with an idea of what I wanted and started pinteresting plans and eventually managed to get the Mr. on board with my scheming. I explained to him the size I wanted and such and he just went with it!

That guy, he's turned into quite the craft master I must say!

One Eve I went to bed early and arose the next morning to find a near compete wall clock! All she needed was some staining and numbers and she'd be complete. That Mr., he's a gem I tell ya!

So, after a few different concoctions of stain, some distressing, and painting of numbers... I introduce you to my latest obsession; our wall clock..

I know, I know, you're drooling aren't you? I sure am.

Thank heavens for a handy man that doesn't roll his eyes at my crazy visions and plans!

hot mess for the win

Do you ever have those days where you try to cram way to much in and somehow manage to skip a nap and stay out past dinner time and it turns into a big huge hot mess?

Well... yesterday was one of those days.

T woke up from a quick nap a little after noon and we decided to take a drive up to the new house (about 20 min away) and take some measurements of various things. All was well, until it started to get a bit cold and I realized we forgot the proper outdoor garments.

We bundled up and I gave T some puffs to snack on. Somehow it started getting late, we got to chatting with the realtors, etc and realized we needed to head to the store to get fixings for dinner.

T had started getting fussy at this point as it was already around 4 and he really could have used another quick nap around 3. But we forged on and headed to the store.

We were about to make it through the store and out the door to head home when I pick T out of the cart and realize he has had a huge massive blow out! I attempt to hide the poop stains with my arm so that no fellow grocery shoppers notice my newbie mom mistake from earlier of trying to strap a diaper on a wild turkey in the car before running inside. And of course this leads to said poop all over my arms.

We finally get to the car after Vince finishes paying and shoos us away from some crazy lady trying to get T to pet her dog. I come up with the brilliant idea of taking his pants off only to realize that the poop is now all down his legs completely covering him. I lay a blanket on his car seat while muttering a few choice words to myself and strap him in.

Now of course realizing he is starving since it's well pass his dinner time I decide to allow him to enjoy a squeeze pouch all by himself on the way home.

Needless to say, it was straight to the bath for this guy.
